Challenge #2: UPCYCLING – where you create a new garments, objects anything from the leftover fabrics or anything that are not used anymore.

Challenge #3: MISURA – where you do an outfit with a given theme on the random model.

I was in FINALE!!!!!!!!!!

1. Technical challenge: Jumpsuit

When I look at it, I was confident that I could make it nicely under 2.5 hours. Because it is a lady jumpsuit, I want something looks young and fresh so denim fabric is my choice. I was happy about the jumpsuit. It looks nice honestly. I only did not have time to put it on mannequin and iron it.

2. Upcycling challenge: Old clothes from different countries

This is crazy challenge. To be honest, I wanted Japanese or USA package so badly. I believed that textile, patterns, texture will be awesome and there will be more room for creativities. But….. I could not get it, the one left is China.

When I opened it. OMG, OMG, OMG. I was speechless. They are pretty, color is vibrants, fabric is rich. BUTTTTT…….This is too much for me. I am not used to this vibrant, high saturated colours. I had no ideas what I should do when I felt not so good with the fabric.

Honestly, the fabric is so iconic. You could tell right away this is from China, because of colours and patterns and textures of fabrics. How could I turn all of them into something cool. So I decided to make a kind of textile manipulation and I hoped to create a croptop jacket.  Again, things never go well. The quilt is too heavy and require a lot of time to cut and sew it for croptop. And I was so happy with the back of jacket I made so I would like to keep it a big part.

3. Misura challenge:  Bomber

My first time ever ever I made a jacket for man and a bomber. I was so nervous and worried because I thought I have not enough time. What do you think  about I was struggling to make a bowling shirt under 2.5 hours and now I have to make a bomber under 5 hours. CRAZYYYYYY

To be honest, I constantly thought “ which next step I should do next while sewing”. 3 layers fabric, zipper with fly extension, knit collars and knit handcuff. OMG, everything was my first time.

BUTTTT…what motivated me to finish it is that I LOVE bomber. It is comfortable, fashionable, unisex, street style. Colour choice is an extra for me. I wanted something young, fresh, strong, bold, highlighted and some contrast with textures and patterns. So I have another layers for bomber. I WISHED I have more time so I could do a letter “ NO TEMPO” attached on the back.

Overall this is interesting challenge and It pushed me to another level of sewing. And I did it!!!!
